Greyson’s October Reads

Greyson’s teacher sent out several Scholastic Book flyers home last month. Greyson enjoyed circling the books that she thought she would like to read. I personally love seeing what she thinks would be good reads. There’s something to choosing a book by its cover and/or title. (Surprisedly, we didn’t get any Halloween books, in this order!)

To support the teacher’s mission to build her classroom’s library, we ordered 10 books. We typically buy books from Amazon or get library books. What I have found with Scholastic is that they offer reasonable prices. So, I will be ordering from there. Don’t worry Amazon I can’t ever jump ship completely. Scholastic clearly doesn’t offer all the titles that Amazon does.

While I love the fact that we are supporting her teacher’s mission to build her classroom’s library, we will also be donating some of the books to a local children’s hospital when Greyson is done reading them. Another way of giving back. I am always thinking of ways of giving back.

Here’s what we ordered:

  1. The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn
  2. How to Catch a Class Pet by Alice Walstred & Andy Elkerton
  3. We Are Here by Tami Charles
  4. Eyes that Speak to the Stars by Joanna Ho
  5. Ameila Bedelia – Tries Her Luck by Herman Parish
  6. Shelia Rae, The Brave by Kevin Henkes
  7. The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds
  8. The Bad Guys by Aaron Blabey (Free Kindle Version with Amazon Kids Subscription)
  9. Junie b. Junes – Shipwrecked by Barbara Parks
  10. Frindle by Andrew Clements (Free Kindle Version with Amazon Kids Subscription)

If you can help your child’s classroom with building their Scholastic’s Library, do it! It’s a great way of giving back. I would say support my daughter’s classroom if you don’t have a classroom to support but the books are delivered to her teacher and then sent home. I have shared our Amazon Affiliates links for the books in case you are interested in seeing the books we chose or if you are interested in purchasing. If you have read any of the books or if you do read, we would love to hear your thoughts on them.

(We are an Amazon Affiliate and make a commission of sales.)

Stay tuned for our review of these books!

Happy Reading!
