Greyson’s 50 State Challenge

Travel has always been one of the most meaningful ways our family learns, grows, and connects. For Greyson, it’s even more powerful. Every new place gives her a chance to explore with her senses, discover new environments, and build memories that shape how she understands the world.

As of today, Greyson has visited 22 states — a milestone that makes us incredibly proud. Our family goal is simple but big: by the time she graduates from high school, we want her to experience all 50 states. Not rushed. Not forced. Just one beautiful adventure at a time.

Traveling is more than checking states off a list. For Greyson, it’s hands‑on learning:

  • Geography becomes real — mountains, oceans, plains, cities, small towns.
  • Sensory exploration feels natural — new textures, sounds, foods, and environments.
  • Flexibility grows — new routines, new people, new experiences.
  • Confidence builds — every trip shows her she can navigate the world in her own way.

We’ve learned that the world is one of the best classrooms, and Greyson thrives when she’s able to explore it.

Here’s where her journey has taken her so far:

  1. Maryland
  2. Virginia
  3. West Virginia
  4. Delaware

Each state has given her something different — a new landscape, a new memory, a new story to tell.

Our Goal: All 50 States by Graduation

We’re not in a rush. This is a journey we want to savor. Our hope is that by the time Greyson walks across that high school graduation stage, she’ll have seen every corner of the country — from the deserts of the Southwest to the forests of the Pacific Northwest, from the Midwest plains to the Hawaiian islands.

Every state will represent a moment in her childhood, a chapter in her story.

What’s Next: Two New States in 2026

We’re planning to add two new states in 2026, and we’re already dreaming about where to go next. Maybe somewhere with mountains. Maybe somewhere with beaches. Maybe somewhere with wide‑open spaces where she can run, explore, and take in the world at her own pace.

Wherever we go, we’ll be collecting memories, photos, and stories to share — not just for the blog, but for Greyson’s future self to look back on.

Why We Share This Journey

We share Greyson’s travels because representation matters. Autistic children deserve to be seen exploring, adventuring, learning, and thriving. Families deserve to see what’s possible. And Greyson deserves a space where her curiosity and courage are celebrated.

This journey isn’t just about states — it’s about showing her the world and showing the world her.

Where will we go next?! Stay Tuned!
