seeks to find all the fun that this world has to offer, and we are here for the ride and maybe provide a little guidance along the way.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Greyson was diagnosed with Autism when she was 4 years old. Greyson is very high functioning, so much so that her pediatrician didn&#8217;t think it was possible that she was Autistic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quick Background Story&#8230; When Greyson was 1, I took her to her well baby checkup and told the doctor that she wasn&#8217;t talking yet. She was still just cooing. The doctor advised that this is often normal and that some kids do not talk right away. My gut was telling me no there&#8217;s something wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-b317eea9-ea55-4a54-a9ef-b722fea241f6\">I was also told that since I had an older daughter not to compare milestones. At 2, Greyson was still not talking, and I said I think something is really wrong. Our pediatrician told me to seek help from our county&#8217;s Infant and Toddler Early Program and I did. Honestly, it was the best thing I did. We had a team of early childhood interventionists (can&#8217;t remember all the job titles of everyone) who helped her navigate toward speaking. Greyson started talking at 3 and now she speaks at every opportunity. She started preschool at 3. She&#8217;s now a Kindergartener and has an IEP which includes Speech Therapy.
